I have had all of my jewelry scattered in different places. Some was in my closet, some were in the bathroom. It was driving me nuts and half the time I was trying to detangle them. I saw some big cork boards at homegoods that I liked, but they weren't really big enough and for $40, I thought they were kind of plain looking. I spotted this vintage frame at a flea market a few weeks ago. Loved it. I spray painted it using this Rustoleum almond color.

Restaurant Knock-Off: Texas Roadhouse House Salad
I love the House Salad at Texas Roadhouse so when I was stumped for what to serve with dinner one night I decided to recreate it at home.
It's a very simple salad made infinitely better by their homemade Ranch dressing and croutons made from their delicious rolls (two things I haven't tried recreating at home yet). It's just greens (romaine), tomato, hardboiled eggs, cheddar cheese and croutons.
Next step - make my own Ranch dressing and find a knock-off for their rolls.
Rocking Chair Makeover
YES, I MESSED UP!
OKAY...THANKS TO LINDA AT: http://parkersparadise.blogspot.com/ SHE LED ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND IT'S FIXED....
But if you want to know what I messed up on I left it on!
I was putting a picture as a header for my list of BLOGS on my sidebar and thought I was deleting the 'words' that I had on there, I clicked 'delete' and WALLA....NO BLOG LIST!
I'm so sorry to everyone who might think I deleted you!
It was not intentional...just a huge OOPPSS!
Now it's going to take me a month of Sunday's to get them all back on.
It will be ongoing for a day or so. IF you see you are not on here let me know...I had probably 30 or more. As long as I'm on here I might just add that we went to Madison to the Wholesale Market yesterday. It was nice but small. Seems the larger ones are in the east or Ohio even.
I did get to see RACHEL from TOO FAR GONE PRIMITIVES!
This was her first time at the Madison show - she has such wonderful Primitive goodies.

I bought some Easter Tin Chocolate Molds (Chick and a Bunny) and a sheep picture along with a glass Chicken candy dish - the kind that the chicken is the top of the covered dish, Purple flowers, a hand painted Spring flower picture and lots of wonderful goodies for our website. It was a long 3-1/2 hours on our feet...guess we could have done it in less time but you always have to make that second trip through.
PICTURES LATER WHEN I BRING UP ALL MY SPRING/EASTER DECOR I want to say how wonderfully my E-Patterns are selling...I'm in awe of how many have sold in just the short 12 days I've had them listed.
Don't forget you can order from me directly - just go to the tab at the top and see what's available at the moment...more are being worked on. Enjoy your wonderful Spring like weather. It's 45 here right now and the sun is shining nicely. Doug is out raking and I'm inside and stumped at how silly I could be to delete all my favorite blogs!!!
Have a good one.

How not to whitewash a floor
1. Remove lid to a gallon sized can of white stain
2. Balance lidless can of white stain on the edge of the bathtub
3. Knock over can of white stain onto freshly laid wood flooring
4. Use spackle knife to scrape puddles of white stain back into can
5. Vigorously rub paper towels over entire area
6. Think positive thoughts. Perhaps you have just discovered a new inventive whitewash application.

7. Realize that no, you have not.
8. Retrieve the belt sander.
Terrific Under Ten Tuesday #7
gallery wall complete and with a story
I could have done my gallery wall with just pics of my kids, but I already have pictures of my them in pretty much every room. :) Nate Berkus always says to have your house tell your story. I actually have always thought that as well. I mean, not in those exact words, but I have always thought your home should be a reflection of who you are and your personality. So, here we go..... Each frame is from a flea market or thrift store, excluding the bottom right one. I already had that one. This first pic I found was in my parents basement. When my grandfather was superintendant at the Naval Academy, this was the Navy football team and they presented him this photo. Actually, former quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, Roger Staubach is number 12 in this photo. It was just sitting in the basement along with a million other pictures of my grandparents. I asked my dad if I could have it because it seems silly that these amazing pictures are just sitting in a stack where no one can enjoy them. I bought the frame at a antique store for hardly anything and I spray painted it white. Then of course there is my "G" to represent our last name. :)

7 Quick Takes Friday - #19
7 Quick Takes-- let's go.
- "Back in the U.S.S.A!" And more specifically, Texas. Yup, we're back. Loving things like family, seeing my kids play at parks I played at as a kid, Chipotle, the big beautiful sky, and virtually no traffic. It's nice being home.
- I dubbed yesterday "Thrift Store Thursday," and we foundsome awesome deals. Thrift stores are so amazing. We stocked up on summer clothes, Fisher Price toys, baseball equipment, and books, and spent in total what would have spent on just three pieces of the clothing that we got (slacks, khakis, and khaki shorts for my husband). I love good deals.
- And Thrift Store Thursday was followed up by... a trip to the ER! Yikes. Poor little Silas, he's my ER guy, I guess. He got stitches last January, and last night he got dermabonded. I knew that's what they'd need to do, but I just lacked the confidence. After watching it be done, I feel like I could do it in a pinch. Reminds me of my oldest son asking me, "mom, did you go to medical school before I was born?" Of course, I replied with a giggle, "no, why?" "Because you seem to know so much stuff about sickness and how to take care of people when they're hurt." Yup, that's what motherhood teaches you, my son. :)
- Speaking of conversations with my oldest son, on Monday or Tuesday after their first time to church in America, Ethan said, "Mom, church here is really different from our church in Turkey." I asked him what specifically he noticed, and he said, "like, in our house church, we know everybody. But you can't know everybody in a church that big. And, sometimes, I feel like we're part of a small number of Christians, but being in that big church, it felt like there are so many other people who are Christians too!" Interesting observations. It is wild to watch our kids grow up so differently from how we did.
- Sorry I haven't been blogging, doing the "Five-A-Month" goals I began doing at the beginning of the year, or even responding to e-mails much. I may be hit or miss for a while with computer stuff... we're just really trying to soak up all the wonderful things we've missed.
- Four years is a long time. People who were single are now married. People who had toddlers/babies have school kids. Some people who were elementary age are now approaching or in high school. It's weird. Good weird, but weird. Keeping up through Facebook helped. But it's still weird.
- Gotta go make a picnic lunch. I think we're going to take our bunch to the Dallas Farmer's Market & hit Dealey plaza for a picnic lunch today. Ethan & I have watched video and theorized about the JFK assassination for a couple years now (he saw me reading about it and is interested in history, so yeah, he knows quite a lot about it)... so now we're off to see the real place for his first time. Should be fun.
- ETA: Didn't think of this earlier, can't believe I didn't mention it... you would not BELIEVE the flights we had. 2 hours before we were set to head to the airport, Silas woke up crying and then promptly threw up on me. That continued for several hours. Pretty soon, Maranatha was throwing up too. They each threw up at least 10 times. Then Baxter. And then, just as we made it to Texas and had our little ones in the stroller, ready to go get our bags, Ethan lost his lunch too. It was totally disgusting- the steward brought me a stack of those throw-up bags, and we used nearly the whole stack. And yet, somehow I honestly felt cheerful and strengthened through the whole trip. Only God could do such a thing, because it was flat out gross. OK, all for now. Just needed to share that. :)
Recipe Swap - Green Chile Cheeseburgers
Want to see what other Easy Weeknight Meals were made during the swap? Here is the link to the Easy Weeknight Recipe Swap Roundup.
This week's cooking board recipe swap theme was Easy Weeknight Meals. I was thrilled to end up with a burger recipe, especially one as simple as Green Chile Cheeseburgers. The original Bobby Flay recipe sounds great, but too labor-intensive for me. Thankfully, Jenna simplified it into something I could easily make over and over again.
Whenever I see a green chile cheeseburger on a Food Network or Travel channel show they keep it simple with the cheeseburger, chiles, bun and mayo so I did the same. I'm sure it's because this recipe calls for canned chiles, but I thought the burgers could use even more chiles on top. Next time I'd use 2 cans for 4 burgers.
Green Chile Cheeseburgers
Adapted from Bobbly Flay
2 pounds ground chuck
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 thin slices provolone
4 hamburger buns, toasted
2 cans green chiles
Mayo
Romaine lettuce leaves, optional
4 thick slices tomatoes, optional
Heat grill to high. Form meat into 4 (8-ounce) burgers and season each burger on both sides with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. Grill until charred on both sides and cooked to desired doneness.
Divide the cans of green chiles onto the burgers. Place 2 slices of the cheese on each burger, close the lid or tent with foil, and cook until the cheese has just melted and chiles are warmed, about 1 minute. Place burgers on buns and top with mayo, lettuce and tomato, if desired.
