Black and white Finnish touch

It's been ages since I've shown a beautiful Finnish home. I always think the folks in Finland have got such a distinct, incredible sense of contemporary style. My latest find is the home of Sanni and Joona from The Rag Rug in Turku, Finland photographed by Suvi from lovely blog Lily. The black and white home is crammed with Scandinavian design classics, vintage finds and personal design work.

It's funny how one thing stands out and sticks in the mind when I see a home. In this case it was the 'Rethink' print. It's so clever! Did anything stand out for you?

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Simple yet striking

A distinctly simple yet utterly striking Scandinavian apartment to celebrate the weekend. If you could choose one fabulous designer item from this home, what it would it be?

With kind permission from Bohman & Sjöstrand and found via lovely blog Solid Frog.

Before I head off, just a little reminder that you only have a couple of days left to make the most of the 10% My Scandinavian Home reader offer from the fab shop Bodie and Fou! - code MSH2012.

Have a really great weekend all!

Designer filled Stockholm pad

Hello and happy Monday! For sale right now in the wonderful city of Stockholm is this fab apartment. On the market through Fantastic Frank, it reads like a designer's game of I-spy, there are just so many design classics including the beautiful Eero Saarinen's Tulip chair and table, and the barcelona chair, which are mixed in with high street favourites such as the IKEA Alex drawer unit.

What do you reckon? Too white on the night? Or perfectly bright? Any favourite pieces?!

Have a great monday evening!

A brick house in Skåne, Sweden

Things are starting to wind down here a little now, pheweee! What a week! And today's actually a public holiday in Sweden, hurray! So I'm going to leave you with a lovely Swedish brick house from here in the Southern most county, Skåne which I spotted over at one of my favourite interior blogs La Maison D'Anna G. The home-owners have used a great mix of furniture from flea market finds, to designer items such as string shelves and svenskt tenn fabric and the Swedish staple, IKEA

Njörn Nordström for Hus o Hem via La Maison D'anna G
What do you think? D'you like the mix? It would be fun to hear your thoughts as this style is all too familiar to me.

Since it's a holiday here I'm off to spend a little time with my girls and man! I hope you have a lovely weekend! See you Monday! x

Scandinavian meets parisian in Malmö

It's just incredible how homes like this can just 'pop-up' at the estate agents here in Sweden, but they do!! Ok, this one has actually featured in Residence. But still! The structural bones themselves are stunning enough on their own, and then the owner, Nina Bergsten, obviously knows a good thing or two about interior design....

Bo-laget via do you fancy this?
I love the mix of light and airy, minimalist scandinavian style combined with a touch of Parisian glamour. The pastels with the gold. Perfection. I'm not sure what else to say, except where do I sign and does the furniture come with it?!!! Thank you to the wonderful blog do you fancy this? for the tip.

PS if you click through to Residence and 'google translate' you can read the whole article and get some great tips on where Nina found some of the furniture.....

Have a lovely day!

A beautiful, fun designer's home in Stockholm

Hej hej! I love this sunny, light and fun home located in South Stockholm right by the water. It is the home of Michael Malmborg, a friend of Myrica Bergqvist (the stylist behind this shoot and featured in a previous post here). Micheal was successful in the advertising business until he decided to chase his dream of starting his own design company, Lyx  making fantastic furniture ten years ago.  Myrica styled this shoot along side photographer Carl Dahlstedt and said:

'It was a really fun job. I love the photo of the boys room with the sea and the bear staring into the camera. And the photo with the Marc Newson chair with the headphones and the old 80's magazines. And the one with the Bertoia chair with the little rabbit under it. It's important to have a bit of humour and heart in the pictures', Myrica Bergqvist. Stylist.

Stylist: Myrica Bergqvist. Photographer: Carl Dahlstedt for Residence

So many wonderful pieces of design furniture and I love all the bold colours. What do you think? Could you live here?! Um.

PS This is becoming a bit of a 'spot the rabbit' week. Perhaps I should do a give-away based on how many rabbits you can spot on my blog?!!! Can you find the one little rabbit in this post?

A modern. fresh apartment in Malmö, Sweden

Morning and happy errrr Monday! One of the wonderful things about living in Sweden is that you never have to look further than the local estate agents for some really great home inspiration. This fantastic apartment in Malmö, southern Sweden is currently for sale via Bo-laget....

All pictures: Bo-laget

There are so many things I love about what the home-owners have done to this space. From the bright red bumling light over the kitchen table, the pretty coloured cushions on the chairs to the red chairs used as bedside tables and the colour of the hallway set off by the gold Hunter wellies.

Any little things you've noticed and loved?

Have a great start to the week!
