CSN stores provided me with two Dash and Albert rugs to use and review.  I was amazed at the speed of their delivery.  I selected my rugs from their Vanity Store, and they promptly arrived two days later!

You may have noticed one of the rugs in my last post.  It’s been sitting in front of our kitchen sink. 

This pattern is called Monty, and it’s a woven cotton rug.  The color pattern in this rug lends itself to much abuse (i.e. dirt).  I really love this rug, and having had it for several weeks, it still looks good.   But again, I think the colors are the key to my success with it.  (Any water spots you see below are from this morning’s dishwashing- real life review here!)

The only complaint I have with this particular rug is that it’s lightweight, and even with a rug pad underneath, it’s liable to shift around and wrinkle up.  Set in a regular thoroughfare, it could potentially be a tripping hazard. 

Our indoor/outdoor Dash and Albert rug is a different story.  It’s quite stiff, and lies on the floor in a more sturdy way.  We got this pattern, Lighthouse Denim (on left):

, As you can see, there are stark white stripes.  The white definitely shows dirt, but it cleans up very easily with just a little dish soap and water.  We’ve had it in our bathroom, and it still looks good as new.  I believe their indoor/outdoor rugs would work practically in any room!  I really love that it doesn’t look like your typical indoor/outdoor rug. 

After sampling these smaller rugs, I confidently predict we’ll be seeing more of Dash and Albert around here!

HAPPY JULY!

Hello to my old and new friends. I have been MIA from the Internet world for quite sometime. I have missed it so. Our computer has been acting up for several months and finally it decided to give us a really hard time, so off to the shop it went. So now I'm broke but with Internet...I guess it's an even trade off. :)

With that being said, I decided to start NEW with a different blog. My old blog is/was 3 Guys, A Girl and A Prim Place if you are new...Boy am I confused with decorating now! LOL I'm more in love with shabby chic/pottery barn/beachy look than primitive right now. I have been stalking new blogs for the last several months and I sure got the bug to change things up in my home! I hope you can join me for the wild ride! Thanks for visiting!

Did it change it at all?
I’ve had my Tobacco Cloth panels for some time now and was waiting until I got my bedroom repapered….well, the
old paper isn’t off yet so it became a thorn in me waiting
for the panels to go up….I like the look but I think I
do need to get the old paper off and some new darker up… (just a bit darker though).

What prompted me today was ‘boredom’ and needing to
wash my curtains so I started taking off the valances and
I liked what I saw. It seems that over the years my brain said ‘you need valances’ so they went up – I liked having them off so that got me thinking – I’ll put up the panels and see
how I like them as long as the windows were going to be
bare anyway….and walla….new curtains and I also put
on my woven bedspread I bought last year at
Family Heirloom Weavers – it didn’t sell so now it’s mine….I have the plaid one just like it so I can change off if I want to.

Yesterday Darren and MaryAnn stopped over after Darren’s MRI…yes, he’s having even more difficulty – not only does he have limited use of the right arm but the left is getting numb again plus he’s having tremors and forgetting things or not relating to things and his balance is off a bit…PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM…he really needs Gods help right now!

Oh, and as things go like they do…his job was terminated because of his problem and can’t do any of the jobs – but they did say even though they had to file the ‘routine’ paper work…his job will be reviewed after everything is settled….
I DON’T SEE IT SETTELING!

I’m angry over the whole situation with that horrible Dr. and I pray he gets his lawsuit going quickly before the insurance company drops the Dr. fast.
Sorry – I get all worked up about that!

And while they were here Dan and Jamie stopped by, they’re both on vacation and were heading out to the lake with their boat  so wanted to say hi to all of us.

Can’t think of anything else right now….guess I’ve
been really bored to post three in a week!

Doug will be home tomorrow afternoon but we don’t
have any holiday plans and that’s just fine – hope you all have a SAFE AND HAPPY 4th

You may be familar with Doktor A from his creation Pac Gentleman, but what you may not know is that this gentleman artisan has recently shared a studio tour in two posts on his blog.

There is a beautiful blooming bush outside our kitchen window. 

And last year it got pruned a little too much.  Ahem. 

Without it, the view outside the window is the back of someone’s house.  Not very pretty. 

But the bush is back.  And it’s blooming. 

And my view (or the lack of one) is restored.

I just love when I find out others were inspired by something they saw here on this little blog of mine.  Remember the burlap lined baskets in my laundry room?  Well, Jamie over at the Right at Home blog used the idea for some baskets on her steps.  Which, by the way, is a great system for keeping that stair clutter under control.

And look what clever thing she did with the leftover jute ribbon!  Love it.

Over at the Fern Valley Farm blog, we find a creative twist on the hanging basket idea.  Not only did she line the baskets with sweet ruffles, she hung them on a weathered board:

I love these creative solutions and wanted to share!
